TARAS A. TARASENKO, ASSOCIATE, MOSCOW

Mr. Tarasenko graduated from the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation in Moscow, with a Diploma in Finance and Economics, and has undertaken post graduate courses at the Plekhanov Russian Economic Academy. Based in Moscow Mr. Tarasenko possesses 5 years of privatized airline experience in the newly structured Russian air carrier industry. His initial airline experience was gained with Aeroflot where he served as Treasury Specialist for the Aeroflot fleet renewal program. He received the Air Finance Journal Award in 2002. Subsequently from 2003 to 2004 Mr. Tarasenko served as Chief Executive Officer of a newly privatised airline operating in the Russian Far East, Buryat Airlines. During his tenure he developed new route, economic and airline finance models and undertook a series of new market surveys and research activities to measure demand for transcontinental, regional and trans-border air services to neighbouring states in the Russian Federation, as well as to Mongolia and into China. Mr. Tarasenko also served as General Director of Buryat Domestic Airports during this period. Mr. Tarasenko has most recently been involved in domestic and international leasing with key Russian financial organisations. He joined LPS AVIA in 2005 and has been involved in a variety of international and Russian domestic airline and airport initiatives, including the Sakhalin Alaska Canada Air Links Economic Feasibility Study for the Institute of the North.
