CANADA - ALASKA - RUSSIA AIR SERVICE STUDY

LPS AVIA was retained by the Institute of the North (representing all circumpolar nations) to investigate the operational, technical and economic viability of establishing commercial air routes linking Sakhalin Island in Siberia with Anchorage, Alaska and Calgary/Edmonton Alberta.

The study included extensive investigation of energy sector demand for air transportation, policy and regulatory regimes in Russia, the U.S. and Canada, air carrier and airport operational and technical capabilities, route economic analyses and improvements necessary to meet ICAO standards. LPS AVIA led a team of Canadian, U.S., and Russian aviation specialists.
